BIT provides a full range of services to clients and is able to provide design leadership and direct design assistance for consortia of professionals or for other architects. Design development and production drawings form the core of the architectural service and are both essential components of design excellence.
During this stage the conceptual design is modified to suit specific finishes and structural requirements culminating in a drawing that is technically accurate. The involvement of a structural engineer is usually imperative at this stage.

Each building is set within its own particular context and designed to the specific requirements of the owners and users of the building. The result is that every building has its own unique architectural expression and character. This also results from the creative input of the project team designing the building. BIT seldom sets out to create a particular “style” of architecture, whether Neo-Georgian, Neo-Gothic, Neo – Classical, Neo-Victorian or any other.

The overall intention remains to design buildings appropriate to context and programme and to strive for a quality worthy of being seen as future “classics”.  Where clients insist on a “style”, we attempt to interpret the style in such a way that it remains expressive of an architecture of today so that the resultant building maintains its inherent integrity and avoids being a fake copy of the past with a consequent short period of appreciation and value.

All projects are subjected to rigorous internal criticism, either as a general office review or as intensive smaller meetings of the project team. At times, outside critics are invited as part of the review.

CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT

BIT is involved from the initial site developments, that is, site clearing, setting out, excavations, construction works to the final handover of the specific project.
A complete materials list and costing is presented to the client before Construction works and complete works plan / Schedule is drafted to ensure a smooth flow to the project.
